Hugo Rifkind from the Times has written an entertaining article claiming “we are all NIMBYists now”. Following the Prince of Wales’ backing of the “Street Pride” initiative (which aims to encourage communities to mobilise in order to protect their own environments) Rifkind argues that across the country Britain’s NIMBYs are taking a stand.  Simon Ricketts, Head of Planning and Environment at law firm S.J. Berwin claims that “the public has got much more confident in asserting their rights, and exploiting what avenues are open to them”. The full article can be accessed here.
